Hartshill Friends Meeting (Quakers) is a warm and welcoming community where we support each other in our shared journeys of the Spirit. We meet for worship every Sunday morning at 10.30 at Hartshill Quaker Meeting House. Everyone is very welcome irrespective of background, disability, ethnicity, gender identity or sexual orientation.
We welcome visitors and enquirers to join us for Meeting for Worship which is for one hour followed by time for refreshments and a chat. Our meeting house is wheelchair accessible and has a hearing loop. Hartshill welcomes families to our meetings and have a basket of resources to support children and young people who come to meeting for worship. Please get in contact for more information about our children's meeting once a month at Hartshill.
Our meeting house is the nearest to the birthplace of the founder of Quakerism, George Fox. We are ‘just up the hill’ from Fenny Drayton, where he was born and brought up 400 years ago. Just across the road, around the hills of what is now Hartshill Hayes Country Park, Fox tended sheep as a boy and this is also the area where he first began to formulate his beliefs. There have been Quakers in Hartshill since the movement began, for more information about our local Quaker history please visit the Local Quaker History section of this website.
Visit our events page to see what is happening- we have a regular craft group, book group and sessions such as Friendly Bible Study and everyone is very welcome to join in any of the activities on offer. We also welcome enquiries for lettings of the building (see room hire page). If you'd like to find out more or have any questions please message us via the 'Contact Us' page or email hartshill@quaker.org.uk and we will be in touch.
